Teaching

I taught English for 9 years in Colorado, including during the Covid chaos (7th grade, 9th, 10th and 12th).

I attempted to make everything fun and engaging. We had FUN in my class. They made websites, one-pagers, fantastic narrative essays, funny parodies, and more. From a creative “Job Fair” for the horrible meat packing position in Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle, to acting out Baz Luhrmann’s Gatsby script to decorating and winning door contests, to collecting and promising to BURN my seniors’ Fahrenheit finals (books they made), to absolutely nailing comedy….we had a pretty good run! Here is just a tiny glimpse into that world.

I am currently secondary certified in Colorado and Florida with a Master’s in Ed. Psych. I am actively open to tutoring or an alternative teaching situation. Homeschooling, microschool, online, etc.
