Letting Go While Keeping a “Happy Medium” Connection
Freshman. Year. Whoa. Those two words are both exciting and overwhelming for most parents! Don’t let this big transition rattle the relationship between you and your child as he or she progresses further toward adulthood. Join Vicki Hoefle, parent educator and author, for an interactive session aimed at making this transition easier. Together, you’ll learn the fine parenting “art” of staying connected to your child without becoming overly dependent on technology for constant communication. Maintaining a “happy medium” takes skill, practice and trust. This interactive session will focus on how parents can help foster their children’s healthy independence while staying connected in a mutually respectful and supportive manner. Come talk to other parents about the challenges ahead and learn how to navigate them effectively!
About Vicki Hoefle: Vicki teaches parent education classes around the country, and is the creator of the award winning and internationally acclaimed multi-media program, Parenting On Track. Vicki is the parent of six children, two college graduates and four currently navigating college life, and the author of Duct Tape Parenting, A Less is More Approach to Raising Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient Kids, published by Bibliomotion (2012).
